| Water district throws support behind bond |
The board of the Indian Wells
Valley Water District at its Aug. 11
meeting passed a resolution of
support for a statewide bond
measure that will ask voters to
approve bonds aimed at shoring
up California’s water infrastructure
and preserving the state’s water-
related environments.
In a 4-1 vote with Director Pierre
Saint-Amand dissenting, the board
backed the Comprehensive Water
Package cosponsored by Gov.
Arnold Schwarzenegger (R) and
Sen. Diane Feinstein (D) and
authorizing the sale of $9.3 billion
worth of bonds.
