School board to meet tomorrow
The Sierra Sands Unified School District Board of Education has before it a light agenda when it meets
tomorrow, Feb. 4, at 7 p.m. in Ridgecrest City Council Chambers.
Items before the board include a resolution that would authorize the reassignment of certificated
administrators to other positions for the 2010-11 school year.
The board is also expected to approve the school accountability report cards for 2008-09 and an
application and award of bid for e-rate funded communications equipment.
Staff will report on implementation of a physical education course outside the regular school day at
Burroughs High School and on current construction activities.
Superintendent Joanna Rum-mer will give the board an update on the state budget crisis.
Inyokern Elementary School will give the presentation “Geocashing in on Standards — Motivating Special
Day Class Students to Master State Standards.”
Consent calendar items included recommendation for an expulsion case, and a recommendation of an
administrative hearing panel regarding an enrollment request from an expelled student from another district.
The meeting is open to the public. Proceedings are also scheduled to be broadcast live on Channel 6 and
on the district website at www.ssusd.org
