District view a street apron hole
Monday morning on North Downs
Street. According to Tom
Mulvihill, IWVWD general
manager, the Ridgecrest Police
Department reported what
appeared to be a “sink hole” to
the district. Mulvihill said the hole
was actually caused by a failure
in concrete below a water line
that was below the apron and
gutter area at that intersection.
The base under the pipe
appeared to be damaged by rain
seeping in and creating a void
over several years. Mulvihill said
he expectsrepairs to be
completed by the end of the week.
